Marvin J. Meseck Mooers Forks - Marvin J. Meseck, 68, of the Meseck Road, Mooers Forks, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, December 14, 1942, the son of James and Anna (Baker) Meseck. Marvin was employed at the Miner Institute in Chazy for 30 years, retiring in 1998 due to his health. He enjoyed maple sugaring and ran Meseck's Sugar House for many years. He also enjoyed working in the woods, sawing lumber, and collecting antique tractors, but his true joy was watching his grandchildren grow. Marvin was a member of Trans Border Antique Tractor Club. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Margaret (Ford) Meseck whom he married December 27, 1963; his children, Henry Meseck of Mooers Forks, Eddie Meseck and his wife Carleen of Mooers Forks, and Patrick Meseck and his fiancé Mindy LaBarge of Ellenburg; his mother, Anna Meseck of Mooers Forks; grandchildren, Rylee Meseck, Ty Meseck, Chelsea LaBarge Meseck, Lucas Meseck, Isaac Meseck, Dustin Meseck, Aaron Meseck, and Brandi Meseck; step grandchildren, Peter Sorrell II, Amanda Sorrell, Karlie Sorrell, and Justin Sorrell; three sisters, Darlene Graves and her husband Robert, Lynnette Gregory and her husband Donald, and Angelissa Heywood and her husband Timothy all of Mooers Forks; two brothers Bryant Meseck and his wife Sandy of Champlain, and Delvin Meseck and his companion Nora Mitchell of Mooers Forks, his faithful canine companion, Tiana; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, James P. Meseck, and his twin infant brother. Calling hours will be held Monday, April 18, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks with Rev. Gerald A. Cerank, celebrating. Entombment will follow in the Whispering Maples Memorial Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot. Donations in his memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center, 75 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
