Obituary of Shirley A. Bruno

Shirley A. LeClair Bruno AuSable Chasm - Shirley A. LeClair Bruno, 79, formerly of Old State Road, AuSable Chasm and more recently South Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born in Amsterdam, September 9, 1931. Shirley worked for the North Country Club and the Barnstead, both of Keeseville and lastly the Clinton County Nursing Home for many years prior to retiring in the mid 90's. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley had a zest for life. She enjoyed get-togethers and having fun. She loved to dance and was an especially talented cook. Survivors include her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and David Lyon of Harkness, Dolores and Michael O'Connor of Chateaugay, and Jacqueline LeClair of Plattsburgh; three grandchildren, Abby Shay, Andrew Daggett, and Kelly O'Connor; two great grandchildren, Landon and Leah Shay; her companion, Stan Haas; longtime best friends, Fred Chiappalone, and Doris Fuller; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband, William LeClair, second husband, Chet Bruno; and sister, Beverly. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 3 to 6 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A prayer service will follow at 6 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William G. Reamer, CVPH Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Port Douglas Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Keeseville Fire Department, 8 Pleasant Street, Keeseville, NY 12944.
