Obituary of Leo P. Trudeau

Leo P. Trudeau Plattsburgh - Leo P. Trudeau, 100, of CV Way, Plattsburgh, died February 28, 2011 at his home, with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Cadyville, July 2, 1910, the son of Peter and Hattie (Bleau) Trudeau. As a young boy Leo worked at the dry milk manufacturer and also cut ice for storage in sawdust, both positions were held in Peru. He later sold slabs and set up wood planing works for Prescott in Keeseville. During World War II he hauled radio cabinets to NYC from Prescott Mill. Lastly, Leo owned and operated Leo Trudeau Trucking in Keeseville for many years prior to selling the company to Dick Smith. Leo enjoyed his winter retirement days in Florida and summer days at home in Plattsburgh. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Arabella (Williams) Trudeau, RN; two sons and daughters-in-law, Reginald and Sarah Trudeau of Washington State, and Dr. Terry and Doris Trudeau of Western New York; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and several brothers, sisters, and half brothers and half sisters. A memorial Mass will be celebrated, Friday, April 29, 2011 at 9 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant, pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Keeseville. Donations in his memory may be made to the Senior Citizens Council, 5139 North Catherine Street, Plattsburgh, NY, 12901.
