Obituary of Morris S. Mylie

Morris S. Mylie Schuyler Falls - Morris S. Mylie, 91, formerly of the Norrisville Road, Schuyler Falls, died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. He was born in Yonkers, NY, as Mauro Salvatore Magliocchino, July 15, 1918, the son of Guiseppe and Amelia (Cimelli) Magliocchino. Morris served in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged September 17, 1945. He was employed for 10 years at Anaconda Copper Mining Company in Hastings, NY, for several years as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, and lastly for many years at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Morris enjoyed working around his house, especially gardening, and cooking. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Susan Mylie of Woodbury, Connecticut; daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Helari "Larry" Leroux of Acworth, Georgia; three grandsons, Jason, Justin, and Quentin Mylie; twin granddaughters, Margaret and Elise Leroux; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Rosemary M. Mylie, December 20, 2007; and 9 siblings. Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010, from 10:30 to 11:30am at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12:00pm at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Alan D. Shnob, parish pastor, celebrating. Committal prayers, full military honors, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Activities Fund at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home, 8 Bushey Blvd Plattsburgh, NY, 12901.
