Gladys M. Brousseau
Peasleeville - Gladys M. Brousseau, 80, formerly of the Peasleeville Road, Schuyler Falls, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Peasleeville, March 31, 1930, the daughter of Paul and Florence (Sears) Fournier.
Gladys graduated from Sallaz Academy in Redford and later graduated from Loretta Business School in Albany.
Gladys served on the Dannemora Federal Credit Union Board of Directors for 35 years. She enjoyed sewing, bookkeeping, and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Edward Brousseau of Peasleeville whom she married October 12, 1978 at St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Dawn Manley of Saratoga Springs and Kenneth and Betty Manley of Mt. Dora, Florida; three daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Chuck Bedard of Peasleeville, Cathy and Ronald Defoe of Beckett, Ma; and Jill and Rob Gaydo of Horton, Michigan; step-children, Lonnie Brousseau and his wife Regina of Schuyler Falls, Sue LaDuke of Peru, and Diana and Ronald Bell of Morrisonville; 17 grandchildren: 8 great-grandchildren; six siblings, Theresa Fournier of Utica, Ethel Fournier of Plattsburgh, Doris Duffina of Plattsburgh, Gilbert Fournier of Peasleeville, Eugene Fournier and his wife Lana of Plant City, Florida, and Anna Gleason of Omaha, Nebraska; and one lifelong friend, Erma Brousseau of Dannemora; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Harold Manley; and two brothers, Arthur and Lee Fournier.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 4 to 7pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, April 9, 2010 at 11am at St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook with Rev. Philip T. Allen, retired, celebrating and Rev. Kris C. Lauzon, parish pastor, con-celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Matthew's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made payable to the Arthritis Foundation and mailed to the Northern and Southern New England Chapter, 35 Cold Spring Road, Suite 411, Rocky Hill, CT, 06067.
