Obituary of Mildred E. Munkittrick

Mildred E. "Millie" Munkittrick Rouses Point - Mildred E. "Millie" Munkittrick, formerly of Rouses Point, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, August 22, the daughter of John and Agnes (Ernst) Roche. She moved to Washington, DC where she met her husband of 55 years, Irving Munkittrick. In 1946 they returned to Irving's hometown of Plattsburgh and together raised their family. Millie, as she was fondly referred to, was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Millie was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star both in Chazy and Clearwater, Fl. She was also involved with many civic organizations while wintering in Clearwater, Fl. Her true love was spending time with family and friends at "Camp" on Point au Fer. Survivors include her children, Patti McDonald and her husband Joe of Reno, NV, Peg Dupras and her husband Terry of Plattsburgh, Mark Munkittrick and his wife Dianne of Santee, SC, and Kathy Barcomb of Champlain; grandchildren, Lisa and Mike Pulk, Tim, Mike and Maiko Barcomb, Jeff McDonald, and Kyle and Hana Munkittrick; great grandchildren, Caitlin and Nathan Pulk; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband Irving Munkittrick; and two brothers, John and Jerry Roche. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 3 to 5pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. Members of the Miramichi Chapter 477 Order of the Eastern Star will meet at the Hamilton Funeral Home for a 4:15pm service. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11am at Three Steeples United Methodist Church in Champlain with pastor Steve Loan officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Glenwood Cemetery in Champlain. Donations in her memory may be made to the Three Steeples United Methodist Church in Champlain.
