Michael Owen McCusker
Keeseville - Michael Owen McCusker, 73, of the Mace Chasm Road, Keeseville died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at his home.
He was born in Plattsburgh, July 20, 1936, the son of Michael C. and Margaret (Ryan) McCusker. Mike graduated from Keeseville Central School in 1954, SUNY Canton in 1956, and later from the School of Radiologic Technology in Saranac Lake. He was the radiologic technician at Will Rogers Hospital in Saranac Lake, the Keene Valley Hospital, Smith House Health Care Center, and Beaumont Health Care Center.
Michael married Judith Miner McCusker at the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville, August 6, 1977.
Mike loved fast cars and antique and classic automobiles. He also loved working on his farm and took great pride in managing and caring for the land where he grew up.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Judy; his mother-in-law, Veronica "Ronnie" Miner formerly of Keeseville, and his faithful companion, Maddie. He is also survived by his nieces, Lynn O'Brien, Cathy Merrill, Susan Santor, Beth Stevens, and Margot Santor; and one nephew, Bryan Santor.
Michael was predeceased by his parents; and one sister, Margaret Santor.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 5, 2010 from 6 to 8pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 11am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the North Country Mission of Hope or the Keeseville Free Library.
Michael's family wishes to thank his loving care givers who came to be with us each and every day for the last three years; we also say thanks to our dear friends and the neighbors for their support and kindness.
