Obituary of Christopher H. Macey

Christopher H. Macey Morrisonville - Christopher H. Macey, 53, of Shingle Street, Morrisonville, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. He was born in Plattsburgh, March 1, 1956 the son of Harold C. and Evangeline E. (Annis) Macey. He grew up in Peru and attended Peru Central School. He worked at Imperial Wall Coverings in Plattsburgh for many years and owned and operated Macey's Auto Repair in Morrisonville. He was an avid outdoorsman, during his lifetime he enjoyed sea-dooing, four-wheeling, racing, and snowmobiling, and looked forward to the first snowstorm and dreaded the last one of the season. His passion was his family and his automobiles. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Karen L. (McKeon) Macey whom he married June 30, 1979 at the Old Base Chapel; three children, David Macey and his fiance Alina Smart of Dannemora, Kathryn Macey and her fiance Michael Reale of Ticonderoga, and Steven Macey and his companion Hannah Delisle of Morrisonville; his mother, Evangeline E. Macey of Peru; siblings, Nila Lamoy and husband Kenny of Peru, Christine Macey and Benny Hailey of Peru, and Angela Girardi of Peru; parents-in-law, Michael McKeon and wife Patricia of Peru; sister-in-law, Linda McKeon of Ohio; brothers-in-law, Michael McKeon and wife Theresa of California, and Frank McKeon and wife Julia of Albany; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Harold C. Macey, February 18, 2001. Calling hours will be held Monday, January 11, 2010 from 5-8pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 3pm at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Alan D. Shnob, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Camp TaKum Ta, PO Box 576, Waterbury, VT 05676 or the Make-A-Wish Foundation, as he believed in helping those in need.
