Obituary of Lucille P. Rankin

Lucille P. Rankin Keeseville - Lucille P. Rankin, 82, of Rocky Cove Way, Keeseville, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side.She was born in Burke, NY, April 9, 1927, the daughter of David and Dora (Caron) Perras.Lucille graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1945. She married George H. Rankin April 3, 1948 at the St. Bernard Church in Saranac Lake with Father Wyley celebrating.Lucille was a multi-talented individual; she was an exceptional seamstress and an amazing interior decorator. She was a fabulous cook, an avid reader and loved music. In her younger years, Lucille was active in bowling, golf, and her children's activities.Survivors include her ten children, Diana and husband Bill Soloski of Keeseville, Thomas Rankin of Waterford, Gail and husband Ron Douglas of Peru, Laura Rankin of CA, Kevin Rankin and fiance Amy of CA, Linda and husband Russell Pray of Keeseville, Michael and wife Mary Rankin of Keeseville, George Rankin of FL, Rick Rankin of CA, and David and wife Stephanie Rankin of FL; one brother, Wilfred Perras and his wife Evelyn of Oswego; one sister, Geneva Courtney of Saranac Lake; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, George H. Rankin, November 30, 2008; one daughter, Marcia J. Rankin; two grandsons, Christopher and Aaron Rankin; and one brother, Robert Perras.Calling hours will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, November 13, 2009 at 2pm at St. John's Church in Keeseville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.Donations in her memory may be made to a Disabled Veterans Charity of one's choice.Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. 834-7667
