Obituary of Mary E. Dashnaw

Mary E. (Brown) DashnawPeru - Mary E. (Brown) Dashnaw, formerly of Route 22, Peru, and more currently of her granddaughter's home, East Laila Drive, Melbourne, Florida, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.She was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, January 31, 1920, the daughter of Fred and Annie Brown.Mary graduated from High School in Massachusetts. She married Norbert F. "Buck" Dashnaw, April 21, 1947. He predeceased her April 27, 2003. She worked for Forrence Orchards for many years.Mary was a member of the Peru VFW Post 309 Ladies Auxiliary, the Peru Community Church, and the Peru Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts, but her true love was spending time with her family and friends.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Dashnaw and wife Laurie of Keeseville; one daughter-in-law, Vicky and her husband Ray Tousignant of Morrisonville; grandchildren, Amy Dashnaw and her companion, Ricky Stephenson of Melbourne, Florida, Terry and William Bushey of Acworth, Georgia, Shawn Lautenschuetz of Keeseville, and Jason and wife Hilari Lautenschuetz of Keeseville; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Dashnaw of Melbourne, Florida, and Harmoni Jane and Aleksander Lautenschuetz of Keeseville, and Phoenix and Kenneth Bushey of Georgia; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.She was also predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Fred, Jr., Ruth, and Pearl.Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 11 to 1pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 1:30pm at the Peru Community Church. Burial will follow in God's Acre Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Burlington, Vt. or the Adirondack Humane Society.Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. 643-9055
