Obituary of Romeo J. Rushia, Jr.

Romeo John Rushia, Jr. Mooers/Plattsburgh - Romeo John Rushia, Jr., 52, of Mooers, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Romeo was born in Plattsburgh, August 15, 1956 the son of Romeo John, Sr. and Geraldine L. (Layo) Rushia. He graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in 1976. Romeo has been employed at Larry Ashline's dairy farm in Mooers for many years. Romeo loved animals, reading, games and watching TV. He is survived by three sisters, Geraldine Rushia and Lori Rushia both of Plattsburgh, and Lee Sheldrake and husband Robert of AuSable Forks; one brother, James Rushia and wife Brenda of Jay; two nieces, Christian Hart of Plattsburgh, and Megan Blaise of AuSable Forks; three nephews, Chester Hart, Jr. of Plattsburgh, Geoff Blaise of AuSable Forks, and Mike Garcia of Jay; two great nieces, Rose and Aowen Hart of Plattsburgh. He was predeceased by his parents; and a baby brother, Joseph (JoJo) Rushia. Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 10 to 11am at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Keeseville. Donations in his memory may be made to his family to be used at their discretion.
