Phyllis M. LaMere Keeseville - Phyllis M. LaMere, 86, formerly of River Street, Keeseville, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lake Placid, January 11, 1923, the daughter of Adelard and Mae (Colby) St. John. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was a caring homemaker, and was well known for her cooking skills. She enjoyed sewing and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her children, Nancy Besaw and husband Roney, Downa Sheffield and husband Sonny, Mary Crowningshield and husband Bruce, and Shirley Thomas and husband Bill, all of Keeseville; a very special daughter-in-law, Bonnie LaMere of Keeseville; grand children, Ronnie, Tammy, Robin, Holly, Cindy, Bruce, Barbie, Becky, Danny, David, Kathy, Mike, Billy, Cheryl, and Kimmy; many great grand children; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, whom she married July 7, 1941, Harvey LaMere Sr. who passed away February 1998; one son, Butch LaMere; and one grand daughter, Karen. At Phyllis' request there will be no public calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Keeseville. Donations in her memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. 834-7667
