Claude S. DickersonReber - Claude S. Dickerson, 92, of the Reber Road, Willsboro died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.He was born in Willsboro, January 16, 1917, the son of Clarence and Maude (Stranahan) Dickerson.He grew up and attended school in Reber. Claude worked many trades throughout the years, including farming, working at the pulp mill, participating in the building of the Moriah School, the Northway, the Willsboro Bank and the old mall. He worked at the Ticonderoga papermill, Foster Smith's, was a member of the Carpenter's Local 1042 in Plattsburgh, and lastly, was one of the "Dickerson Boys" with his brother, Mike.He was the oldest living and a chartered member of the Reber Fire Department, member of the Reber Fire Police, member of the Reber Grange and a chartered member of the Spruce Hill Haven Hunting Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a garden all of his life. His true love however was spending time with his family.Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Joyce (Hutchins) Dickerson whom he married May 24, 1941 in Westport, NY; four children, Philip Dickerson and wife Carol, Randy Dickerson and wife Vicki, Blair Dickerson, and Kim Bridge; grandchildren, Darren and Duane Dickerson, Gregg Dickerson and wife Angie, Chip Dickerson and wife Traci, Jill Davis, and Adriane and Ali Bridge; great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Connor, and Brooke Dickerson, and Emily and Ben Davis; siblings, Audrey Dickerson and Doris and husband Ed Collins; son-in-law and special friend, Mike Bridge; additional in-laws, Alan Hutchins and wife Ada, William Hutchins, Mary Boardman, Dolores Hutchins, Rena Dickerson, Edrie Dickerson, and Beverly Dickerson; and many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his parents; one daughter, Brenda Dickerson; brothers, Loren and wife Ruth, Don, Maitland and his wife Betty, Otis, and Milton; sister, Vivian and husband Frank; and his parents-in-law, Clara and Henry Hutchins.Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 5 to 7pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A memorial service will follow at 7pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home and will include a fireman's service and words of remembrance.Donations in his memory may be made to the Reber Fire Company or the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center. He was a cancer survivor at age 84.Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. 643-9055
