Marguerite (Jubert) ProvonchaMooers - Marguerite (Jubert) Provoncha, 93, formerly of the Gilbert Road, Mooers, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Clinton County Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.She was born in Sciota, August 16, 1915, the daughter of Louis B. and Maud (Paro) Jubert.Marguerite was a 1937 graduate of Plattsburgh State College. She was a teacher for 37 years at Mooers Elementary and primarily taught the 4th grade. She married Leo Provoncha, June 25, 1940. They were together for 53 years prior to him passing, December 29, 1993.She was a lifetime member of the St. Ann's society, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary for 26 years, and the Retired Teachers Association.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Marilyn Provoncha of Mooers; three granddaughters and six great grandchildren, Brenda Stiles and husband, Jeremy and their two sons, Ian and Jarid, all of Plattsburgh, Laurie Kelso and her two daughters, Brittany and Megan, all of Peru, and Karen LaFave and husband, Scott, and their two sons, Nathan and Matthew, all of Mooers; one sister, Albertine Garrant of Burlington, Vt.; two brothers, Harold Jubert and wife Barbara of Chazy, and Arnold Jubert and wife Jackie of Morrisonville; two sisters-in-law, Jean Jubert of Saratoga, and Virginia Jubert of Reno, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; one sister, Madeline Sharron; three brothers, Raymond, Herman, and Maynard Jubert; and two brothers-in-law, Andrew Garrant and Lester Sharron.Calling hours will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 from 4 to 8pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. Members of the Mooers Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, St. Ann's Society, and the Mooers Knights of Columbus, will join Fr. Cerank Friday evening at 5:30 at the Hamilton Funeral Home for service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10am at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks with Rev. Gerald A. Cerank, pastor, celebrating. Entombment will follow in the Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot.Donations in her memory may be made to the Samuel F. Vilas Home, 61 Beekman Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. 236-4747
