Obituary of Beverly A. Holland

Beverly A. Holland Peru - Beverly A. Holland, 73, of Holden Avenue, Peru, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in White Plains, June 2, 1935, the daughter of the late Austin and Ethel (Flooks) Friese. Beverly graduated as a school nurse teacher from Plattsburgh State Teacher College Nursing program in 1957. She worked as a school nurse teacher at Peru Central School for 29 years prior to retiring in 1990. Bev was a member of the Peru Community Church and was a very successful bowling coach and led many teams to victory. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James Henry Holland, whom she married in Beekmantown, October 5, 1956; two sons, James Arthur Holland and wife Susan of Thomasville, GA and William Holland and wife Sheila of Clintondale; two brothers, Austin Friese Jr. and wife Shirley of St. Cloud, MN and Barry Friese and wife Marion of Pawleys Island, SC; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 24, 2009 from 4 to 6pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10am at the Peru Community Church with Rev. Dr. Robert E. Svenson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in God's acre cemetery in Peru.
