Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Blaise
Keeseville - Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Blaise, of Blaise Lane, Keeseville, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty, as she was fondly referred to, was born September 2, 1931 in Middlebury, VT the daughter of the late George and Helen (Grimley) Mitchell.
She was married to her beloved husband Sherman Blaise who passed away before her in May, 1989. They were married September 2, 1948 at St. John's Church in Keeseville.
Betty was a devoted, caring, and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Sherman and Gail Blaise, Steven and Carol Blaise, and Nelson and Nancy Blaise, all of Keeseville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosalind and Michael Lucia of Keeseville, and Jacqueline and Chris Rock of Florida; thirteen grandchildren, Matthew, Aaron, Michelle, Malissa, Christopher, Malynda, Ryan, Jason, Alex, Ben, Steven, Samantha, and Kyle; eleven great grandchildren, Clayton, Lucas, Alax, Dustin, Alysa, Trevor, Monique, Nicholas, Joseph, Sharadin, and Aiden; two sisters, Margaret Champagne of Plattsburgh and Veronica Doyle of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, George Mitchell Jr., and granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Blaise at 2 months old.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 6 to 8pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, April 17, 2009 at 10am at St. John's Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will following in the parish cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Hospice of the North Country.
