Robert W. BezioKeeseville - Robert W. Bezio, 76, formerly of Pleasant Street, Keeseville, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown with his loving wife and family friend, Mary Sackett, by his side. Mr. Bezio had been a resident at Horace Nye for nearly four years.He was born in Keeseville, June 4, 1932, the son of Francis F. and Margaret (LaMountain) Bezio. Bob worked for many years at his family's fuel business, Francis F. Bezio, Inc. in Keeseville.Bob was a charter member of the Keeseville Elks Lodge #2072, and a member of the Keeseville Knights of Columbus, and Keeseville Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed fishing and riding his scooter. Survivors include his devoted wife of 57 years, Kathryn (Wrisley) Bezio, whom he married, September 15, 1951 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and Michael Ashline, and Rebecca and Dennis Lombard; three grandchildren, Sean Ashline and wife, Raquel, Travis Ashline and wife, Melanie, and Nicole Rivers and husband, Shawn; five great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Carl Floyd; two sisters-in-law, Viola Bezio and Tina Bezio Way, both of Keeseville; and several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Sherman and Francis A. Bezio; and one sister, Victoria Patnode Barber.Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 6 to 8pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. The following organizations will meet Thursday evening at the Hamilton Funeral Home for services at the specified time: Keeseville Knights of Columbus, 6pm; Keeseville Fire Dept., 6:30pm; and the Keeseville Elks, 7pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville with Rev. Leeward J. Poissant, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery in Peru.Donations in his memory may be made to the Horace Nye Recreation Fund or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
