Evelyn V. NeverettMooers - Evelyn V. Neverett, 93, of Main Street, Mooers, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Ellenburg, March 17, 1915, the daughter of Frank and Julia (Trudell) Miller. She graduated from Ellenburg Central School. She later married Perry J. Neverett, April 9, 1947 at St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. He predeceased her on August 15, 1977. Together Evelyn and her beloved husband owned and operated Neverett's Supermarket in Mooers from 1954 until retiring in 1970. Neverett's Supermarket was widely recognized in the North Country for its excellent meat products and local, personalized service. Evelyn and Perry also owned and operated North Country Livestock Exchange from 1964 until 1979. They retired to their residence on Main Street in Mooers, and Evelyn remained there until after Perry died in 1977. She moved to Watson Senior Housing, also in Mooers, in 2003. While in her home, Evelyn greatly enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She also loved doing crochet and other needlework. She was known for her homemade apple pies and donuts. Evelyn was a member of the Mooers Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Mooers Altar Rosary Society. Survivors include her three children, Daniel Neverett of Carson City, Nevada; Sandra Neverett of Columbia, Maryland, and Kelly Neverett and wife Debbie of Chazy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Irene Rondo, Victoria LaBombard, Sara LaBombard, Edmund Miller, Elizabeth Laliberte, Arthur Miller, John Miller, and George Miller. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 1 to 5pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. Members of the Mooers Knights of Columbus will meet at the Hamilton Funeral Home for a 1pm service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, March 2, 2009 at 10am at St. Joseph's Church in Mooers with Rev. Gerald A. Cerank, pastor, celebrating. Rev. Gilbert O. Boisvert, pastor of the Holy Angels Church in Altona will con-celebrate. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Mooers Volunteer Fire Dept and Auxiliary, Mooers, NY, 12958, or the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida, 33136-1494.Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Rd, Mooers. 236-4747
