Mildred M. "Millie" FisherEllenburg - Mildred M. "Millie" Fisher, 88, of Valehaven Adult Home, and formerly of Ellenburg Center, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.She was born in Ellenburg, October 8, 1920, the daughter of Harley and Amelia (Amlaw) Begor.Millie, as she was fondly referred to, married Romeo Fisher who operated a dairy farm in Ellenburg Center. Later the family moved to Springfield, MA where they both took employment until retirement. Millie's most recent home was Valehaven Adult home in Peru. Millie enjoyed cooking and eating out. She was a Communicant at St. John's Church.She is survived by her son, Carl Fisher and wife Elaine of Westfield, MA; two grandchildren, Darlene and Daniel Fisher of Westfield, MA; two sisters-in-law, Doritha Fisher of FL and Leona Fisher of Poughkeepsie; special nephews and niece, Larry Begor and wife Norma, Gary Begor and wife Molly, and Ronald Begor and wife Paula, and Marilyn Begor and companion John Rock, and several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews; and special friends, Carol Bedard, Therrin Lobdell, Ethel Rushford, Teresa Bashaw, and Tricia and Ruth Begor.She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Romeo Fisher; one daughter, Audrey Turgeon; one sister, Leoala Begor; and five brothers, Roy, Earl, William, Carl and Howard Begor.At the request of the family there will be no public calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11am at St. Augustine's Church with Rev. Alan D. Shnob, pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Edmund's Cemetery in Ellenburg.Donations in her memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. 236-4747
