Herbert N. TrippMorrisonville - Herbert N. Tripp, 78, of Mason Street, Morrisonville, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at his home.He was born in Peru, September 18, 1930, the son of John and Ethel (Larock) Tripp. Herb served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1951. He worked on Brelia's Farm on the Salmon River Road for a few years and then began working for the NYS Dept. of Transportation. He retired following more than 30 years of service.He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working in the woods.Survivors include his son, Andrew Tripp of Morrisonville; one grandson, Christopher Tripp of Morrisonville; his siblings, Raymond and Ann Tripp of Morrisonville, Margaret and Kenneth Wood of Plattsburgh, Shirley Conners of Plattsburgh, John and Carol Tripp of Plattsburgh; Carol and Donald Sorrell of Morrisonville; and many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Irene (LaPoint) Tripp; and one daughter, Tami Tripp.Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 3 to 5pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, December 15, 2008 at 11am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in the Spring in the parish cemetery.Donations in his memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Make-A-Wish Foundation.Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
