Stanley F. FrechettePeru - Stanley F. Frechette, 92, formerly of Main Street, Peru, died, Tuesday, December 09, 2008 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare facility in Plattsburgh.He was born in Plattsburgh, March 15, 1916, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Houle) Frechette. Stanley retired in 1978 as General Manager of the Grand Union Company. Stanley began his career with the food chain as a clerk. He was manager in company stores in Chazy, Peru, Keeseville and Plattsburgh. He was awarded, by the National Association of Food Chains the "Good Citizens Award" in 1955 and 1956. Stanley was well-respected by his employees and loved by many. Stanley was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Peru Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St. Augustine's Church.Stanley loved to travel, bird watch and work outdoors. He greatly enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sporting events and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Judy Frechette of Peru; one daughter, Nancy Frechette Tetrault of Port Kent; a sister Geraldine LeBlanc of Maryland; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Chad and Jody Frechette and children, Erick and Katelin of Peru, Angel Frechette of Plattsburgh, Lori Tetrault Phillips and companion Mark Valois and children, Kyle and Brielle of Vermont, Craig Tetrault of Florida, Courtney and Melissa Tetrault and their daughter, Alexa of Peru, Tina (Thorpe) and Tom Monnot and their son, Tyler and Justin of California, Michelle "Shelly" (Thorpe) and Eric Hanson and their daughter, Harlea of California; and several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Leola Baker Frechette; a daughter, Joan Frechette Thorpe; a son-in-law, Roger Tetrault; one brother; and three sisters.At Stanley's request there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, December 12, 2008 at 1pm at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Alan D. Shnob, pastor, celebrating. Committal prayers, full military honors, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.Donations in Stanley's memory may be made to the Peru Fire Department.Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Rd, Peru. 643-9055
