Obituary of Ruth M. Miller

Ruth M. Miller Mooers Forks - Ruth M. Miller, 88, of the Miller Road, Mooers Forks, joined her husband and daughter Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in Mooers, November 29, 1919, the daughter of Philip and Emma (Pigeon) Gokey. She was a 1937 graduate of Mooers Central School. She continued her education at Our Lady of Victory in Plattsburgh. Ruth married Rudolph H. Miller, Sr., September 4, 1941 at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. He predeceased her June 26, 1992. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann's and an active member of the St. Ann's Church, which was very important to her. Ruth enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, swimming, walking, reading, cooking, baking apple pies, and lastly camping. She will be remembered for her great faith to her family, friends and her Church and God. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Debbie Miller of Mooers Forks, Rudy and Sue Miller of Mooers Forks, and Joe and Sheila Miller of Mooers Forks; son-in-law, Richard Acors of Virginia; nine grandchildren, Rich, Donald, and David Acors, Robbie and Travis Miller, Melissa and Megan Miller, and Staci and Brad Miller; nine great-grandchildren; Nathan, Daniel, Savanah, David, Abby, Kyle, Keenan, Saya, and Winnie; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Gokey of Mooers; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents; one daughter, Rose Marie Acors; one brother, Randall Gokey; and one infant sister, Mercedes Gokey. Calling hours will be held Friday, October 24, 2008 from 4 to 7pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 9am at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks with Rev. Terry R. LaValley, Rector of St. Mary's Cathedral in Ogdensburg, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery in Mooers Forks. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Ann's Church Parish.
