Obituary of Mabel Velma Fleury

Mabel Velma Fleury Peru - Mabel Velma Fleury, 90, of Covel Way, Peru, died Monday, September 15, 2008, at her home. She was born in Keeseville, November 29, 1917, the daughter of Leroy and Gertrude (Danforth) Colvin. Mabel has resided on Covel Way in Peru for about 25 years. Prior to that she lived on Jackson Street in Keeseville. She was employed as a manager for many years at Don G. Orchards in Peru. She enjoyed tending to her plants, watching birds, and visiting with her neighbors in Covel's Trailer Park. Survivors include her children, Betty Spear and husband Charles of Waterbury, Connecticut, and Roger Laduke and wife Joanne of Seattle, Washington; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Richard Wright of Peru; and several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Fleury in 1993; one daughter, Roxanna Spear in 2003; one brother, Charles Colvin; and three sisters, Marion Hart, Dorothy LaBombard, and Hilda Spooner. There will be no public calling hours or services. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 21 Plattsburgh Plaza, Plattsburgh, NY, 12901.
