Phyllis M. Lewis Peru Phyllis M. Lewis, 90, of Jenkins Street, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008 at her home. She was born in Peru, December 1, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lenore (Church) Irwin. Phyllis graduated from Peru High School and the Moses Ludington Hospital School of Nursing in Ticonderoga. While working in Ticonderoga she met and married Harley P. Lewis. She and her husband owned and operated a clothing store in Milford, CT. They later opened a real estate and construction business in the Connecticut area. Phyllis continued her real estate career after moving to Florida. She returned to Peru in 2003. Survivors include one grandson, Kenneth Lewis of New Haven, Connecticut; a son, Ronald Lewis; daughter-in-law and her husband, Anne and John Kyer of Florida; one brother and sister-in-law, Kermit and Bertha Irwin of Peru; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harley P. Lewis, a sister and her husband, Naomi and John Sherburne, and a niece Phyllis West. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Ticonderoga. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation. Further information may be found at www.parkinson.org.
