Obituary of Muriel M. Douglas

Muriel M. Douglas Keeseville Muriel M. Douglas, 84, of Vine Street, Keeseville, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Jay, May 25, 1924, the daughter of Nelson and Marguerite (Ward) Pelkey. She married Reginald F. Douglas, December 9, 1941 in Jay. He predeceased her May 9, 1999. Muriel was employed with Montgomery Wards in Plattsburgh for many years. She enjoyed hosting yard sales, growing her plants, reading, the opera especially Pavarotti, and praying for her family and friends. Above all came her family, she truly loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her two daughters and one son-in-law, Regina and Jerry Blanch of Keeseville, and Teena Shumway and companion, Timothy Allen of Keeseville; one son, Reginald N. Douglas of Keeseville; one sister, Dorothy Russell of Peru. 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by several siblings. There will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
