I will always cherish the memories of Uncle Bud, a man who embodied kindness, generosity, and wisdom. From his dedicated military service to his many years as a police officer and his selfless volunteer work, Uncle Bud's contributions were far-reaching. He touched the lives of his family, local communities, and country with unwavering commitment. While the profound impact of a life cannot be fully grasped by any one of us alone, Uncle Bud undeniably played a significant role in shaping our lives, especially mine.

When I think of Bud, I think of him as someone I looked up to. I think a lot of people do. I was proud that he was my brother. He was the best older brother there could be. I’ll miss him very much.

Bud made me laugh all the time. I remember when he & Lorna were living in Ronkonkoma, Russ and I were still new. We were over at their house, and he asked me to sing happy birthday to him by myself and we laughed and laughed. I knew I was in.
One time we were driving up to Grammy’s house in VT, all of us in the van. I was trying to fall sleep on Russ’ shoulders. He saw us in the rear view mirror and said “aww isn’t that cute”. I heard him because I was still awake, and we had a chuckle.
I always thought it was very impressive, the way he & Lorna could turn houses into beautiful homes.
I will miss you very much, Bud. Thank you for all you and Lorna have done for us.

The things that I remember about my brother, Bud:
I remember one day when Bud was with me & we were meeting some friends, he told me to introduce him as Bill or William, not Bud. Bud is what family called him.
I remember after Bud got married, he was with us more. He would take me to play hand ball at Stony Brook University. I think he let me win once in a while.
I always was proud of my brother and used to ask him for advice. I loved talking to him on the phone.
I will miss him a lot and I love him very very much.

Many great memories with Uncle Bud!
We always loved visiting with him, Aunt Lorna and the family for our Hohn get togethers. I remember their house in Ronkonkoma had that cool basement bar lounge area where we would all hang out. I remember the feeling of a laughing family, and the taste of peanuts in the peanut dish, it was always full!
A specific memory is when I got a speeding ticket upstate and Uncle Bud came with me to the court house to see what could be done. When we walked in the woman behind the desk said “Oh, hey Bud, how’re you doing” - she knew him well. She dropped the ticket, thanks to Bud, and we had a good moment that - of course she knew Bud, everyone in the area knows and loves him!
Sometimes him and Aunt Lorna would share stories from their younger years, and they were great to hear. I learned a lot about him this way, how he was inclusive of everyone and kind, how he wanted to help people, help humanity. He told us some personal stories as well and I think he did it for multiple reasons, but mostly to let us know that we’re doing ok, even if we think we’re a little different or a little whacky, he had some whacky stories too and all turned out well.
As we get closer to our Wedding in a few short weeks, can’t help but to really take notice of Bud and Lorna’s special marriage. The family joked that Lorna is a saint for dealing so well with Bud’s funny quirks, but it was all in good fun. I saw how he would look for her and find comfort in her being by his side during his final weeks. That’s what love is.
Lots of hugs. We will really miss you, Uncle Bud!
Love, Cassandra and Joe

I can’t believe I am no longer going to see Bill outside of his door when I walk by his house with the dogs in the morning. A big man with a big heart, he always had treats ready for my dogs. And I mean good treats! Better treats than I ever gave them! He was a strong willed man with a big heart. We had many conversations about virtually every topic known to man and whether you agreed with him or not, those conversations were the hallmark of my day! Bill was engaging, smart, and funny. Lorna was his bed rock and soulmate. I will miss his presence dearly. And in his honor, the dogs are getting really good treats today!

Bill was an incredibly nice man who I had so many conversations with about our job as former Police officers. Bill had an excellent reputation at the 2nd precinct in Suffolk County. That was my former precinct as well. I thought it would be a nice way to show my respect to Bill by flying my flag at half mast.

Brother Bill was such a kind hearted person and had a heart of gold. He said something funny to me recently that I will always remember and no matter where I might be or what I'm doing it'll always put a smile on my face. Bill was always will to lend a helping hand to whom ever needed it and did it with a smile on his face.
You will always be in my heart now and till we meet again....love ya brother Bill

You will always be the love and central joy of my life. You lived a good life and were an honorable man.
All the wild critters will miss you too, but I'll do my best to keep them happy.
Now is where I say "see ya later alligator" and you say "thanks for the warning".

I met Bill when we worked on building a Habitat house, the first of five. He was generous, often buying baked goods and soft drinks for the whole crew. He was a hard worker, often helping recondition less-fortunate people’s homes.
You knew early on that Bill was crazy about his wife Lorna. He was proud of his military service. He was a friend who I knew would always help if I needed it. Our world is shrunken without him.

I’ll miss Bill at the Y during our morning workouts. We had many great conversations about Long Island, politics and family. Any time it was raining, Bill offered to put my bike in his truck and drive me home. His humor, friendliness and generosity will be missed by everyone. Sincere condolences to his wife and family.

We will miss seeing Bill head out for his exercise at the YMCA and returning. He'd often stop, say hello and then be on his way. Some days it would be just a wave.
He was a very caring person.
Our condolences to his family and friends.
Enjoy the roads in heaven, Bill.

Though I new Bill as a neighbor I got to know him in a new way when I opened an antique shop in Keeseville with my sister-in-law. Bill loved antiques especially treasures from the Adirondacks. He was always on the lookout for something unique. He would stop by weekly to see what was new and we would talk. I learned alot from our conversations - not just about antiques but how he cared for his family and how much they meant to him. I told him that he was an "Old softy" and he made me promise not to tell anyone. That was Bill.
