Robin Quick Dunning of Westport, NY died tragically on May 4, 2023 in a car accident on Route 9N. Robin is survived by her daughter Casey (Dunning) Bradley, her son-in-law John and her grandchildren Rex and Kai, her sisters Jana Quick, Gail Distefano, and Teri Quick, her cousins Joyce Montague and Jill Mode, her parents Robert and Jennie Quick, her step children Heather and Troy Dunning and her boyfriend Dave Westover. Robin was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Bruce Dunning.
Robin was born in Kingston, NY and grew up in Port Ewen before graduating from Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park. Following the footsteps of her father, she joined the state police and worked as a dispatcher, where she met Bruce. Robin and Bruce lived in Philmont, where they built a beautiful home, had beautiful gardens and raised their daughter, Casey. They later moved to Westport where she worked and retired as an administrator from Elizabethtown Community Hospital.
Robin’s artistic talents were reflected in her love for painting, gardening and playing the bagpipes. In recent years, she enjoyed many good times with Dave. They loved traveling, camping and spending time with their grandchildren Katelyn, Cheyenne and Hunter. She found great company and comfort in her extended Westover family and Westport community.
A Services will be held Thursday, May 11th at 1pm at Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, NY 12972. Following the service, there will be a celebration of Robin at the Wooden Nickel in Lewis, NY starting at 3pm, all are welcome.
