Please share a memory of Edrie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edrie Adele (Wrisley) Dickerson, 90, of Reber Road, Willsboro, passed away on May 5, 2023 at the Champlain Valley Senior Community in Willsboro.
She was born May 14th 1932 in Essex County, Willsboro, New York. Edrie graduated from Willsboro Central School in 1949 and Albany Business College 1950. She married Rodney Dickerson July 10th 1954, in Reber Methodist Church, Willsboro, New York. Edrie worked for General Electric in Schenectady until she became a full-time devoted mother to Douglas and Keith and later on an overjoyed grandmother to Daniel and Lucas, sons of Jackie and Doug Dickerson.
Edrie, a.k.a Edy, and Rodney, a.k.a Bub, were very active in Rotterdam Junction Methodist Church when they lived in Hoffmans New York. After Bub retired from GE in 1986, they built a new home in Reber, NY across the road from where Bub grew up and a ½ mile from where Edy grew up, a love story about the girl down the road. They were very active in Reber Church, Fire Department, Senior Citizens and helping her parents who lived nearby and many others.
Edrie is survived by her son & daughter-in law, Doug & Jackie; her son, Keith & daughter-in-law Maria; grandsons, Daniel & Lucas; sisters, Lucille Garvey-Little and Phyllis Gibbons and brother-in-law, William Gibbons; sisters-in law, Joyce Dickerson and Rena Dickerson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rodney “Bub”; parents, Alton and Marie Wrisley; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Pat Wrisley, Carl Garvey, Dr. Harry Little, father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Maude Dickerson, Audrey Dickerson, Vivian and Frank Morse, Loren and Ruth Dickerson, Donald Dickerson, Claude Dickerson, Doris and Ed Collins, Mike “Milton” and Bev Dickerson, Maitland and Betty Dickerson as well as several nieces and nephews.
In the winter, Edrie and Bub spent many winters in Englewood, Fl. - enjoying no snow! Edrie died on the same date that her father, Alton died. Her sister Phyllis said she believes that was divine intervention to end her suffering and rejoin her heavenly family. In some sense that should comfort us all in the fact we will all be together again.
