MaryAnne "Nana" St. John Carroll, 83, of Rabideau Street, Cadyville, passed away on Thursday March 30th, 2023 peacefully, but unexpectedly at home.
She was born in Plattsburgh on February 13, 1940 the daughter of George and Grace (Goddeau) St. John. MaryAnne graduated from Saranac Central in 1957.
MaryAnne worked for the Clinton Country Sheriff's Department for over 20 years until her retirement. After retirement she held several jobs which she loved, but one in particular was as Clinton County Court Attendant. She was a hard worker and always loved to be busy.
She was a member of the St. James Parish in Cadyville.
MaryAnne enjoyed spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was being Nana to all who knew her. Some didn't even know her real name. Her door was always open for all visitors and she took great joy in making sure everyone was fed well. Her infectious smile and warm nature reached inside the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
Left to cherish the memory of MaryAnne are, her four children, Shari (Larry) Blair, Steve (Kim) Carroll, Susie (Arnold) Williams, Sandy (David) Jock; one brother, Robert (Angie) St. John; her pride and joy, ten grandchildren, Steven, Joshua, Amanda, Laura, Jocelyn, Andrew, Eric, Nathan, Kelli, Daniel & their spouses, and thirteen wonderful great-grandchildren, Lexi, Grayson, Anna, Ellie, Jameson, Brennan, Reid, Blaire, Kameron, Maeve, Olivia, Becka, Emerson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, John St. John; and sister, Yvonne White.
Calling hours will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 from 10 to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 pm, Monday, in St. James Church in Cadyville. Burial will be held later in the spring in the parish cemetery.
Donations in her name can be made to the Cadyville Volunteer Fire Department.
