Obituary of Arlene Theresa Ruggan Dague

Please share a memory of Arlene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Arlene Theresa Ruggan Dague, 92, formerly of Mace Chasm Road, Keeseville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Meadowbrook Healthcare. She was born in Buffalo, NY on November 10, 1930, the daughter of John Edward and Pearl (Kurdziel) Ruggan. She spent her childhood with her loving parents and Polish immigrant grandparents. She had fond memories of being wheeled around in a little red wagon by her adoring grandfather. Arlene attended school at the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart. She held various administrative positions at Adam, Meldrum & Anderson, Buffalo Mill Supply Company, Central Trust Company, and ultimately as Manager/Owner of Ed Dague Chevrolet, Inc. Arlene was always glamorous and beautiful and periodically modeled for clothing catalogs and major department stores. On a blind date, Arlene met Edward Dague and this city girl met the country boy who was the love of her life. Arlene's fun loving personality was a perfect fit for Edward's sense of humor. As an only child, she dreamed of having a large family. She realized her dream by having 5 kids within 6 years. Arlene and Edward raised their young family in Elma and Watertown New York before settling in Keeseville. Edward, being a Port Kent native, yearned to return to his roots and Arlene supported his dreams. They worked together to build a successful car dealership, Ed Dague Chevrolet, Inc. Arlene was also known as "Thumps" to close friends and family. Her acceptance of this nickname shows her fun loving side. Arlene was well known for her sweet, loving nature and incredible kindness. She was adored by everyone she met. Arlene cherished her family most of all and delighted in attending frequent family reunions where her huge extended family would gather together. Arlene was a huge Buffalo Bills football fan and an avid member of the "Buffalo Mafia" fan club. Arlene also enjoyed her time as a member of the Red Hat Society and Lake Champlain's Red Sunsets. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Denise (Steven) Fuller of Keeseville, Bryan Dague of Burlington, VT, Garrett (former wife Karen) Dague of Morrisonville, NY, Dianne (Michael) Tanner of Gansevoort, NY, and Nadine (Jeffery) Briggs of Westford, MA; grandchildren, Jason (former wife Rebecca Gero) Fuller, Alicia (former husband Aaron) Fuller-Blaise, Ethan Dague, Samuel Tanner, Jacob Tanner, Renee Tanner, Margot Tanner, Megan Briggs, Trent Briggs; great-grandchildren, Aiden Blaise and Ashtin Blaise, Jaxston Fuller, and Kayden Keefe. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Edward Dague. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11th at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 1660 Spring St, Keeseville, NY with Rev. Kris C. Lauzon, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in St. John's Cemetery in Keeseville.
