Obituary of Francis Joseph Kane

Francis Joseph "Frank" Kane, 88, of Homestead Way, Jay, NY, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ, February 14, 2023. Fran, as he was so lovingly known, was born on September 8, 1934, to Walter and Lila Perks Kane in Lake Placid, NY. Fran served in the United States Army, from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959. He was stationed in Columbus, Georgia for the two years. Fran married the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Cornick Kane of Jay NY, on 11/11/1958. The couple was blessed with 6 children: Cindy Kane Estes (Jeffrey), of Jay, NY, Wendy Kane Williams of Jay, NY, Randy J. Kane (Rikki Santor) Kane, of Morrisonville, NY, and Andy Kane of Jay, NY. Fran worked for ORDA at Whiteface Mountain, and the Olympic Ski Jump until his retirement in 1990. However, the most important part of his life, was his family. Family came above all his other interests, including his love for NASCAR racing! He built race cars and maintained them for many local racers in the area. He loved camping in the summer and visiting with his family and his many friends who would stop by. Fran was predeceased by his father and mother; 3 brothers and 1 sister, as well as his one daughter, Penny Kane, and one son, Danny Kane. The celebration of his life will be at the Jay Baptist Church, Route 9N, Jay, NY, beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Memorials or donations may be made to the Jay Baptist Church, CVPH Cancer Center, Elizabethtown Hospital and High Peaks Hospice of Essex County.
