Brian Allen Martin, 52, of the Wallace Hill Road, Plattsburgh, died Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Newburgh, January 21, 1970, the son of Michael D. and Barbara J. (Giguere) Martin. Brian graduated from MAI in 1988. He continued his education at Clinton Community College, graduating with an Associate Degree in Business Management, and later attended Plattsburgh State University. Brian worked for Dames Rental & Sales Center as general manager for 25 years, until his illness prevented him from continuing. Brian had many hobbies including classic cars, which he owned several over the years, fishing with Buddy, a love for music, attending approximately 100 concerts over the years, and a love of movies. Brian was a die-hard Ohio State football fan as well as a New York Giants fan. Left to cherish the memory of Brian are, his mother, Barbara J. (Giguere) Martin; two siblings, Kent Martin, and Robin VanWeort and husband Harold; nieces and nephews; Michael F. Martin, Sarah (A.J.) Liccardi, Zachary Martin (fiance, Elissa Potts), and Taylor and Tyler VanWeort; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Martin, August 17, 2007; maternal and paternal grandparents; one aunt; and several uncles. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 11 to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at Noon in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott R. Seymour, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Donate Life, 517 East Washington Street, Syracuse, NY, 13202. Brian's family wish to extend a sincere "thank you" to Strong Memorial Hospital Transplant Program. All Brian would ask is everyone become an organ donor, don't just say it, do it. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
