Obituary of Cathy Bonadies-Morrow
Please share a memory of Cathy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cathy Bonadies-Morrow of Port Kent, devoted mother, sister, and friend died December 6, 2022, after a brief illness.
Born November 14, 1955, Cathy was the second child of Leonard and Cecelia (Pasanella) Bonadies. Raised in Dobbs Ferry, NY, Cathy graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Plattsburgh State University.
On October 11, 1980, Cathy married Michael Morrow. The couple had two adoring girls Lora Catherine and Leah Marie Morrow who remained the focal point of Cathy's existence. To her girls, Cathy was the launching pad for their dreams, a model of warmth and grace, relentless provider as well as a driving creative force.
While she lived, Cathy cultivated a deep appreciation for the arts, including an affinity for the blues. Together with her companion of 19 years, John Reightmyer, the couple often traveled hundreds of miles to see their favorite artists.
Cathy's beautiful heart and creative nature were apparent in everything she did. She lived life with a deep passion transforming everything she touched. A compassionate and selfless person, Cathy gave generously to charity, her community as well as family and friends.
Cathy was an extraordinary artist whose work displayed her passion and master craftmanship in every detail. She was known for her bold, yet refined style laced with funky flair. Lora and Leah were the coheiresses to this endless creativity. From hand sewing the family's clothing, to painting, and every art form in between, Cathy was art personified. Her light, love and creativity were shared with everyone who was lucky enough to have met her.
Cathy ultimately left the world a better place than she found it.
Left to cherish the memory of Cathy are her two daughters, Lora C. Morrow and Leah M. Morrow; her companion, John Reightmyer; her siblings, Corinne Bonadies (Richard Smethurst), Lane (Patricia) Bonadies, and Christen (David)Lisanti; former spouse, Michael Morrow; several nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of genuine friends.
