Obituary of Carl Micheal Miner, Sr.

Carl Micheal Miner, Sr., 69, of the Bashaw Road, Mooers, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh, May 17, 1953, the son of Clarence and Margaret (Trombley) Miner. He grew up in Beekmantown and graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1972. Carl served his country proudly with the United States Army from 1974 until his honorable discharge in 1977. He married the former Dawn Marie Morrow January 25, 1986 in Beekmantown. Carl worked for 35 years in the transportation dept. at NCCS and retired as Transportation Supervisor in 2012. He enjoyed watching westerns and action films, collecting movie memorabilia, and camping, and was an avid NY Giants fan. Left to cherish the memory of Carl are, his loving wife of 36 years, Dawn Miner; two children, Bobbie-Jo (Harlan) Lucia, and Carl Miner, Jr. (Melanie Wood); grandchildren, Katelin, Mason, and Evan Rock; siblings, Donald (Janet) Miner, Carolyn Chauvin, Rodney Miner, Randy (Holly) Miner, and Cathy Miner; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by siblings, Clarence "Roger" Miner, Mary Ellen Burke, Ricky Miner, and Ronald Miner; and one brother-in-law, Bryan Chauvin. Calling hours will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 1 to 3 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. Military honors will be accorded at 3 pm in the Hamilton Funeral Home chapel. Donations in his memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
