Obituary of Leeward Edward Upton

Leeward Edward Upton, 90, of Plattsburgh, formerly of Mooers, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the UVM Health Network – CVPH, Plattsburgh with his loving family by his side. He was born in Mooers on July 31, 1932, the son of Edward and Rose (LaPine) Upton. Leeward worked hard running the family farm and after a long day he enjoyed seeing his friends and playing poker and bingo. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Leroy (Julie) of Mooers, Lester (Mafe) of Plattsburgh, and Lee (Mary) of Bakersfield, CA; daughters, Carol (Chris) of Plattsburgh, Cindy (Randy) of Champlain, and Kamie (Bill) of Potsdam; stepson, George (Marissa) of Plattsburgh; stepdaughter, Mary (Ryan) of Plattsburgh; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy, Amanda, Tracy, Eric, Maja, Jaja, Mark, Rylee, Clarissa, Tyler, Taylor and Jaden; Great grandchildren, Easton, Paislee, Joshua, Zac, Lexi, Naima, Georgie, John and Kaysen. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Raymond; and long time companion, Susan Hart. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 11 AM to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A Funeral Service will be held at Noon in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Reamer, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooers Riverside Cemetery.
