Virginia "Ginny" Rifenburgh Green Coolidge, 86, of Peru, died Friday, October 27, 2022 at the Champlain Valley Senior Community in Willsboro, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Worcester, NY, January 11, 1936, the daughter of Walter Rifenburgh and Mable Estella Phelps Rifenburgh. Ginny worked for Clinton County Nursing Home and then was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching old westerns, gardening, playing board games and cards, especially pinochle, and traveling. She was most fond of her trip to Amsterdam and Paris. She also traveled to Nova Scotia, Bahamas, and spent a month traveling the United States with George. Left to cherish the memory of Virginia are, daughters, Wanita Richardson, Anita Bonville, Bonita Durgan, Lollita Pierce and her husband, John, and Carmalita Whitney and her husband, Garry; one step-son, George Coolidge, Jr. and his wife Rose Coolidge; a sister, Louise Folch; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Robert Green and George H. Coolidge; brother, John Rifenburgh; and sisters, Ester Emerson, Wanda Snyder, and Jeannette Ayres; and grandchildren, Beverly Bryant and Kailey Bonville. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 2 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Peru Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
