Theodore William "Teddy" Alwine, Jr., 61, of Sarasota, Florida, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, July 13, 1961, the son of Theodore William "Ted", Sr. and Brigitte Rosalia (Steinhauser) Alwine. He was an Army brat and traveled the world with his family, throughout his childhood and teenage years. He enlisted with the United States Army in 1981 and served his country proudly until his honorable discharge in 1983. He married the former Barbara Decker, October 24, 1992 in Sarasota, Florida. Teddy was an avid fisherman and free spirit. He was a naturalist and was most comfortable spending time outdoors. He wasn't afraid to travel and always welcomed new adventures. Though Sarasota was where he lived and he adventured too many places, home was with his wife and family. Left to cherish the memory of Teddy are, his wife, Barbara "Bobbi" Alwine; his parents, Ted and Brigitte Alwine; four sisters, Rosale (John) Lewis, Mary (Kevin) Kennedy, Patricia Wade, and Connie (Kevin) Drago; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family both in the US and Germany. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Steven Macey; and parents-in-law, Patricia Higgins and Jerry Decker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville with Rev. Scott R. Seymour, parish priest, celebrating. Committal prayers, military honors, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice or Masses to be said in his memory. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
