John David Soulia, 73, of the Fuller Road, Peru, died Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at his home, under the loving the care of his family and Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Plattsburgh, February 21, 1949, the son of Oliver and Blanche (Busha) Soulia. He grew up in Peru and graduated from Keeseville High School.
John owned and operated his own garbage and construction businesses. In the later years he had a limousine he would operate for weddings and other gatherings.
He was a former member of the St. Augustine's Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge. John enjoyed word searches, bowling, and playing cards.
Left to cherish the memory of John are, his children, Lisa (Jerry) Deyo, David (Crystal) Soulia, and Sara Rice; eight grandchildren, Katelin, James, Michael, Brittanny, Lenny, Dakota, Cheyenne, and Abbi; six great-grandchildren, Kayden, Miagh, Arabella, Aryia, Emmy, and Jaxon who is expected in March of 2023; two sisters, Judy Reilly, and Sandy Ashline; one brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Barbara Soulia; special friend, Evelyn Brown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Wayne Soulia.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A prayer service will follow at 7 pm in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel.
Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Augustine's Knights of Columbus.
