Obituary of Joan Anita Rock

Joan Anita Rock, 92, of North Street, Port Kent, died Wednesday, September 20, 2022, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Keeseville, July 24, 1930, the daughter of Alfred and Georgiana (Frazier) Tellier. She grew up in Keeseville and worked during her early years at Prescott's in Keeseville. The majority of her adult life was spent caring for her eleven children. The care of children though, didn't end with her own. She cared for neighbor children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to time with her family and friends, she enjoyed flower gardening. Left to cherish the memory of Joan are, her children, Sally Mitchell, Nancy Rock Joy (Allen), David Rock (Sandra Joy Rock), William Rock (Lisa Haws Rock), Randy Rock (Pamela Favro Rock), Jeanne Dashnaw (Lee), Michael Rock (Grace Barber Rock), James Rock (Terrie Stanclift Rock), Mary Rock Bombard (Steven), and Timothy Rock (Tammy Green Rock); one sister, Gladys Bombard; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Rolland Rock; son, Daniel Rock; grandson, James Rock; and son-in-law, Stacey Mitchell. Calling hours will be held Monday, September 26, 2022 from 11 to 1 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kris Lauzon, officiating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the St. John's Cemetery in Keeseville. Donations in her memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
