
Obituary of Phillip E. Duprey

Phillip E. “Bud” Duprey, 85, of the Lapham Mills Road, Peru, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.
Phillip was born in Swastica, NY, December 24, 1936, the son of George and Sarah (Paquin) Duprey. Phillip married the love of his life, the former Mildred “Millie” Buckley, February 22, 1955, and raised two daughters of his own and his niece, Pam.
He worked at Pepsi Cola in Keeseville for 27 years, until his retirement in February of 1999. Following retirement, he and Millie officially became “snowbirds”, spending many winters in Florida.
Bud was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Parish since 1961, and a 4th degree Knight from the K of C in Keeseville, NY. He was very involved in the local HAM radio club, going by the call sign N2ZGR.
Left to cherish the memory of Bud are, two daughters, Phyllis Burch, Debbie Laundry and her husband Robert, and Pam Towner who lived with them for part of her life; five brothers, Richard (Lorraine), Lawrence (Joan), Roger (Darlene), Donald (Nancy), and Gordon; seven grandchildren, Traci Stiger and her companion Terry Whitaker, Bobbi Covel and her companion Eddie Rathbun, John Douglass and his companion Ali Armstrong, Mindy and her husband Frank Akey, Cassandra and her husband George Harris, Thomas Benoit, and Sarah Duprey; nine great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Jakob, Jackson, John, Liam, James, Jordan, Phillip, and Justin; four great-great-grandchildren, Presley, Noah, Lydia, and Paisleigh; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Millie (Buckley) Duprey; and two brothers, Wayne and Harold.
At Bud’s request there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 1pm at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. William G. Reamer, celebrating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Peru Fire Dept. or the Peru Rescue Squad.
