Viola D. Jarvis, 95, of Grove Street, Keeseville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Meadowbrook Healthcare, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Keeseville on June 19, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Amelia (Spooner) LaBounty. Viola was married to her loving husband, Charles on June 1, 1946. She was a homemaker and loving Mom. Some of her hobbies included baking, crocheting and camping. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Amelia and Richard Prentiss, Charles and Bonnie Jarvis, and Louis and Lori Jarvis; three grandchildren, Richard and Deanna Prentiss, Jason and Nikki Prentiss, and Christopher Jarvis and Brittany Douglas; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She also had three “bonus” grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. She also leaves behind a brother, Louis LaBounty as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Charles L. Jarvis, and two sisters, Florence and Dorothy Galarneau, and two brothers, Leonard and Richard LaBounty. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 10 to 11 am at St. John’s Church in Keeseville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am with Rev. Kris C. Lauzon, celebrating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Viola Jarvis may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville, 834-7667.
