
Obituary of Timothy Harold "Tim" Edwards

Timothy Harold "Tim" Edwards, 72, of the Allen Hill Road, Peru, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Peru.
He was born in Plattsburgh, March 28, 1950, the son of Harold and Rita Mary (O'Neill) Edwards. He grew up in Peru and graduated from Peru Central School in 1968. During high school he excelled at wrestling and one year placed 2nd in the State. In 1970 he graduated from Canton College with an Associate's Degree in Sociology.
As a young man Tim worked for Paul W. Calkins assisting at auctions, he worked at Grossman's Lumber for a couple years as well, and then began a career with the NYS Dept. of Corrections. He retired in 2005 as a Sergeant following 25 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, he worked for several years at Whiteface Mountain.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed riding his bicycle, traveling, camping, skiing, hiking, swimming, kayaking, photography, and music. He also enjoyed collecting driftwood and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish the memory of Tim are, his spouse, Karen Weinkauf of Peru; three sons, Ryan Edwards of Burlington, Vermont, Zeb Edwards and his wife, Stephanie of Peru, and Otis Edwards of Peru; step-daughter, Miriam Weinkauf of Peru; one beloved granddaughter, Lucretzia "LuLu" Edwards; two brothers, Gary (Nancy) Edwards of Peru, and Guy "Bill" Edwards and his special friend, Daniel of Plattsburgh; his aunt who was like a second mother, Joan Provost of Saranac; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by uncles, Alfred (Elizabeth "Betty") O'Neill, and Bob Provost.
Calling hours will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 from 4 to 6 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 6 pm in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with his brother, Rev. Bill Edwards, presiding. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Keeseville.
