Anita Lopez Cole born October 31st, 1973, died July 13th, 2022, in Towson, Maryland. Anita was born at CVPH in Plattsburgh, New York. She grew up in Keeseville and attended AuSable Valley High School, graduated Valedictorian in 1991. Four years later, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Math & Economics at SUNY Geneseo, graduated Summa Cum Laude. Anita then went on to pursue her Doctorate at Berkely and Stanford University in California. There she met the love of her life Kevin Cole, they were married August 18th, 1997, in San Francisco, California. She tutored and taught Math at Piedmont High School in Piedmont, California. She loved teaching and always thought of the children as her own and kept in touch with many of her former students. Anita had a passion for learning, education, music, traveling and football specifically the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. She attended numerous concerts over the years. Her favorite was U2, she saw them several times over the years and would always joke that her “husband” was Bono the lead singer. She also had a love for Paris after spending a summer there during the World Cup. Anita is predeceased by her Great Grandparents, Vernon & Celia Williams. Grandparents, Benjamin & Anna Lopez, Roger and Eulee Poland, and many Aunts & Uncles, all from Keeseville New York. She is survived by her Parents, Roman & Lola Lopez; Sisters, Tessa Lopez-Proulx and husband, Jonathan Proulx & Laura Lopez-Kennedy and husband, Ryan Kennedy; Aunts, Carmen Dobbs & Gloria Bennett, Karen Poland and Cecelia & (Lonnie Lautenchautz); Uncles, Randy Poland, Michael and Stephan Lopez; 4 very special Nieces and Nephews, Jalyn, Delany, Isaiah, and Jaxon; and many, many Cousins. A celebration of Anita’s Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
