Andrea Christensen

Obituary of Andrea C. Christensen

Andrea C. Christensen-Mastic, 60, of Mud Pond Road, Peru, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at her home. She was born in Silver City, NM, on March 1, 1962, the daughter of John and Valerie (Morris) Bockman, and grew up in Tucson, AZ. Andrea joined the army at 17 and met her late husband Rick at Fort Knox. They were married in September of 1980 and spent the next 20 years raising their children and traveling the country, moving between Massachusetts, Arizona and South Carolina before Rick passed in 2000. She moved to the North Country in 2002 and fell in love with the mountain life. Andrea met Mike in 2003 and they married in 2015. They built a beautiful life together up on their mountain. Andrea lived life out loud. She made everyone who knew her feel important and loved, offering nuggets of advice. Her favorite was “if it’s to be, it’s up to me!” Andrea loved her jobs as an aide, TA and coach, and changed the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and working with her. Andrea was the most passionate about her family. She talked to her children almost every day and made sure that her grandchildren knew that they were loved and each one was so special. Going to Granny’s and Papa’s always meant a bonfire and treats, picking vegetables in the garden or sledding down the hill in the winter. Her entire world was her family. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 7 years, Michael “Mike” Mastic; children Tara O’Shields with her husband, Kelly, Ian Christensen with his partner, Sadie, Eric Christensen with his partner, Colleen, Christopher Mastic with his partner, Aleasha, and her grandchildren, Trey Pritchett, Liam Christensen, Rylee Owen, Morgan Christensen, Rhya Christensen, Lucy Pritchett-O’Shields, Holly Owen, Jayden Christensen, Brady O’Shields, Max O’Shields, Westley O’Shields, and Rome Christensen. She is also survived by her mother, Valerie, her brothers Joseph, Paul, Tom, John, and James, and her sisters Margaret and Claire, as well as many in laws, nieces, nephews and extended family. Andrea was adored by everyone who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her father, John F. Bockman, her sister Mary Beth (Bockman) Lytle, and her husband, Eric E. Christensen. Andrea was a bright light in this world. She will continue to burn bright in the hearts of her husband, children, and grandchildren and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. Relatives and friends are invited to call on July 16, 2022 from 1 to 3 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
