Obituary of Cliff Bradley McDougal

Cliff Bradley McDougal, 61, of Cedar St., Saranac Lake, passed into the loving arms of his Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, following a brief illness. Cliff was born August 27, 1960 in Chico, California, the son of Kalvin and Norma (Dickinson) McDougal. He grew up and attended school in Elizabethtown. Cliff worked as a cook at Big Daddy's Restaurant and the Essex Co. Horace Nye Home. He worked as a cook for quite a few years before transitioning to the Maintenance Dept at Horace Nye, then to Maintenance at the County Buildings. Once the new Public Safety Building was built in Lewis he moved there and stayed until he retired. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to lend a hand, give hugs, listen and offer support. He loved hunting, fishing and his golf tournaments. Cliff was predeceased by his father, Kalvin S. McDougal of Lewis; his mother, Norma J. McDougal (Dickinson) of Elizabethtown; his brother, Gordon G. McDougal of Elizabethtown; Gertrude Abrahamson McDougal; a niece, Ashley Marie Grady of Elizabethtown; and Kristina Knox of Saranac Lake. Survivors include his sister Deborah McDougal Smith of Elizabethtown; his brother Travis J. McDougal Sr. of Saranac Lake; Billie and Maria Bledsaw, and their sons Isaiah and Aaron of Elizabethtown; Gerald W. Smith of Lewis; four aunts, Dale McDougal Smith of Wilmington; Irene McDougal of Daytona Beach, Fl.; Evelyn Dickinson of Holley; Esther Dickinson of Bergen; Leesa Marin of Westport; Richard and Margaret Smith of Willsboro; nephews Travis McDougal Jr. (Courtney) of Plattsburgh; Julius Barreto (Alison) of Keene Valley; nieces, Crystal Grady of Plattsburgh; Susan Bullock of Westport; Kristina and Arri Bullock of New Mexico; Kristina L McDougal of Fort Edward; many loyal and special friends, Serge and Patty Bouchard of Plattsburgh; Mark Abrahamson(Jackie) of Valdosta, GA; Michelle (Josie) Häag of Peyton, CO; Mike (Laura) Drew of Elizabethtown; Eugene (Sharon) Wilson of Mineville; Willy(Nancy) Pulsifer of Chatham; Ed Linsday of Elizabethtown; Joe(Kera) Akey of Tupper Lake; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held for Cliff on Saturday, August 6th at 1pm at the Westport Bible Church, 23 Youngs Rd., Westport, NY. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
