Lloyd "Vaughn" Hathaway, 93, of Ellsberry Lane, Willsboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on November 23, 1928, the son of Raymond and Ethel (Strong) Hathaway. Vaughn married the love of his life, Hilda (Benway) on September 8th, 1948. Together they incorporated Northeaster States Lumber in 1989 after being in the trucking, sawmill and lumber business all his life. They enjoyed traveling to different areas buying and selling lumber and meeting new people. He was a lifetime member of the Keeseville Elks Lodge #2072. He also was a founding member of "Uncle Jake's Cabin" where he shared many fond memories with the gang. He also enjoyed many trips with "the guys" fishing in Canada. He cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are, his beloved wife of 73 years; his brother, Bradley Hathaway of Virginia; children, Sandra Jacques (Stephen) of Gloversville, NY, Dale (Betsy) of Mayfield, NY, Colleen Nolette (Ben Gentile) of Willsboro, NY, and Wanda Gowdy (Scott) of Lewis, NY; grandchildren, Jamey (Amy) Jacques, Brent Jacques, Angela Rhodes, Jennifer (Ron) Akey, Jeremy Hathaway, Jeanette Armstrong, Alvin (Brandy) Nolette, Jr., Nicole Cassavaugh, Tierra (Brandon) Jaquish, Briana Reynolds, Mike Gowdy, and Cody Gowdy; and great-grandchildren, Kendal, Andrew, Austin, Jaxson, Mitchell, Abagail, Emma, Isabella, Logan, Lilly, Lexi, Lacey, Laney, Desiree, Everett, and Brody. The special girls who have helped in so many ways and have become family, Stacey, Melissa, Jen, Angel, and Joan. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond Hathaway, Jr., Carl "Koert)" Hathaway, Marshall Hathaway, and Robert Hathaway; and sister, Alberta Curran. A special thanks to High Peaks Hospice for their loving care. Honoring his wishes there will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lloyd Vaughn Hathaway may be made to High Peaks Hospice or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
