Richard M. “Dick” Jones, 93, of North Bend Street, Peru, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare, Plattsburgh. He was born in Clayville, NY on May 16, 1928, the son of Sanford W. and Elmira (Tice) Jones. Dick served his country proudly from 1944 to 1949 in the US Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, US Navy and US Marine Corps. He was awarded the American Theater medal, Asiatic Pacific, Japanese Occupation, two WWII victory medals, Navy and Merchant Marine, and the Merchant Marine Atlantic War Zone medals. Dick was a member of Amvets Post 8 in Malone and a member since 1981 at Township 19, a hunting, fishing and recreation club where he served as President for many years. Left to cherish the memory of Dick is his daughter, Pamela Jozwiak and husband, Leonard of Peru; son, Patrick M. Jones and companion, Nancy M. Marshall of Owls Head, NY; granddaughter, Colby L. Siskavich and husband, Michael of Peru; grandson, Braylin P. Jones and wife, Janelle of Malone; great-grandchildren, Landon and Leah Siskavich; and his companion of many years, Elizabeth Trombley of Malone; 3 sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Darrah-Mannix) Jones; brothers, Sanford L. “Spike” Jones, Edwin E. “Gene” Jones, Warrant Officer Wayne E. Jones, killed in action, Vietnam, 1967; sisters, Jacqueline Patnode and Pamela Coleman; and a great-grandson, Luke Siskavich. Honoring Dick’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
