Obituary of Darlene Mary Wood Netterville

Darlene Mary Wood Netterville, 68, formerly of Peru and more recently of Del City, Oklahoma, died Thursday, March 31, 2022, where she wanted to be, at the home of her granddaughter in Plattsburgh, under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh, February 12, 1954, the daughter of Gerald and JoAnn (Gilman) Bouyea. Darlene’s focus in life was family. Her children, grandchildren, and siblings had great love and respect for her. She kept her family together and close through the years. Many would say, “she was the glue…” Her world revolved around her grandchildren. She loved them dearly and was always a guiding light for them as they grew up. Darlene’s plan for herself is to “attend angel school” so she can continue to guide her family from Heaven. As Darlene’s final time on earth became closer, she was blessed to have her granddaughter Katelin open her home in Plattsburgh so she could return to the North Country to be surrounded by her loving family. This gave everyone time to hug, kiss, and say the things that needed to be said. Darlene spent her last few weeks smiling, belly laughing and making special memories with those she loved the most. Left to cherish the memory of Darlene are, her husband, David Netterville; children, Phillip Wood of Albany, Nancy Lavare (Daryn) of Albany, Joseph Bouyea of Plattsburgh, Ruth Defiglio (Peter) of Albany, Jody Renaudette (Gary Morette) of Morrisonville, and daughter in law, Marcy Phipps (Sam) of Sacramento; grandchildren, Andrea (Matt), Scott Matthew (Chelsea), Seth, Miranda, Levi, Katelin (Eric), Erick, Danielle (Ray), Matthew, Morgan (Tristan), Jeremy (Jess), Jessica (Kyle), and Scott Gary (Natalie); siblings, Vickie Goddeau of Morrisonville, Laurie Provost (Gene) of West Chazy, Scott Bouyea (Kimberly) of Plattsburgh, and Michael Bouyea of Peru; and many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gary Wood; sisters, Susan “Susie” Branham, and Michelle “Pixie” Bouyea; and brother, Francis “Butch” Bouyea. To my grandma.. “you are gone, but thank you for all these soft, sweet things you have left behind in my home, in my head, in my heart..” I’ll never forget. I love you more than the sun, Katelin. Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 1 to 3 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 3 pm in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William G. Reamer, officiating. A reception will be held following the services on Sunday, at Livingood’s Restaurant and Brewery from 4 to 6 pm to celebrate Darlene’s life. Committal prayers and burial will be held Monday, April 4, 2022 at 3 pm in St. Alexander’s Cemetery in Morrisonville. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take a moment to hug your loved ones and tell them you love them; time waits for no one. In the event you’d like to donate, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
