Obituary of Barbara J. Blakeman
Barbara J. Blakeman, 67, of Moore Drive, Peru, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the UVM Medical Center, Burlington, VT, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Whitman, MA on December 20, 1954, the daughter of Harold and Blanche (Davis) Hathaway. Barb was a great daughter, sister, wife, family member, and friend. However, she was the proudest of her role as a mother to her two daughters and a Mimi to her granddaughter. She was a hard worker her whole life and she instilled those values in her children. Aside from her love for her family, Barb was a diehard Patriots and Red Sox fan. She loved all her Boston teams, "big time"! In her younger years, she really enjoyed camping with family. She also always enjoyed going to the Country Music Festival with her sister. Barb was world renowned for not holding back her opinion and had a knack for telling it like it was. She always told you the truth, even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 40 years, Richard Blakeman; daughters, Katrina Strack and husband, Jonathan, and Rachael Harp; granddaughter, Isabelle Strack; brothers, Bill Hathaway and wife, Connie and Dave Hathaway and wife, Lisa; sister-in-law, Bonnie Davey; and many loved nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved sister, Debby LaBelle, and brother, Mike Davey. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 10 to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barbara J.
