Obituary of Eileen Stickle
Please share a memory of Eileen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eileen Stickle (née Ellmore), loving wife and mother, died Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her home in Plattsburgh, New York.
Eileen was born on May 27, 1961 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to parents, James Ellmore and Kathleen Geraghty-Ellmore.
Eileen first met her beloved husband, Richard Charles Stickle when they were attending Arlington Senior High School. Eileen and Richard were teenage sweethearts who married the summer after graduation, in July 1981 in Poughkeepsie, New York. They were happily married for 40 years.
Eileen is survived by her three children: Rachel Marie, Andrea Lynn, and Matthew Richard Stickle. Eileen was “Nana” to six grandchildren: Aaron, Nathan, Brayden, Kameron, Gianna (aka, “Gigi”), and Carter.
Eileen adored children and worked for the Virginia Beach Public School System for ten years. She was known by all the neighborhood children as “Mama Stick.”
Eileen was a curious, warm, fierce woman who had a tremendous capacity for empathy and kindness. She loved elephants, butterflies, rainbows, and turtles. She enjoyed living by Lake Champlain and took great delight in kayaking. Most of all, Eileen loved her children, grandchildren, and her beloved husband of 40 years. She will be in our hearts forever.
